Torres Del Paine
One of the wildest places I have been.
It’s not easy to find a place that feels so untouched these days, places where you don’t see many people, where you can breathe real fresh air and feel nature in a raw and deep way.
Torres del Paine in the Chilean Patagonia was alway on my bucket list and I decided to go to there when I had my daughter. I think part of me was scared that I would lose myself and never travel again, so I decided to take on the impulse and put stop over in Chile on my way to Brazil, my home country. My little girl was 10 months old at the time and I have to admit, it would be a hundred times easier to go to Patagonia without a baby, but part of me believes that place, that wind… will forever stay in her little soul, hopefully giving her courage and strength to live an interesting life.
In Patagonia, you can’t have plans because of the weather. Its unreliable, chaotic and extraordinary at the same time. Torres del Paine in a park so we it depends on the weather to be open. Full of hikes, hard ones and easier ones. Home of pumas, guanacos a large amount of birds.
Each day in Patagonia is like living in a parallel universe, you wake up and you think about the wind, is this trail open? what is the direction of the wind? These answers will help you to decide what to do, to live the moment and remember you can’t control anything.
